The shopping app "Naver Plus Store" released by Naver ranked first in new installations for mobile applications in the shopping institutional sector. It surpassed the Chinese shopping app Temu, which had maintained the top spot for over a year.

According to mobile market researcher Aizaworks, new installations of the Naver Plus Store app last month totaled 2,841,603, making it the most downloaded app in the shopping institutional sector.

The second place went to Temu with 1,160,824 installations. Following were Carrot with 492,425 installations and Coupang with 466,444 installations. Temu, which was launched domestically in September 2023, had consistently held the top rank in new installations until it was pushed to second place this time.

Naver previously launched the Naver Plus Store, which claims to be an artificial intelligence (AI) shopping app, on the 12th. The app promotes personalization through tailored product offerings using its proprietary AI technology, while also featuring segmented delivery services such as same-day delivery, next-day delivery, Sunday delivery, and desired date delivery. The app surpassed 1 million cumulative downloads just 8 days after its launch on the 20th.

However, in terms of user numbers, it still falls significantly short compared to Coupang. As of last month, Coupang's monthly active user base (MAU) was 32,923,031, making it a dominant first in the shopping institutional sector. Following were 11Street (8,699,585 users), AliExpress (7,117,269 users), Temu (6,747,670 users), and Gmarket (6,311,149 users).

The MAU of Naver Plus Store was 2,682,251, placing it at 14th, outside the top 10.
