Starbucks Korea (SCK Company) noted on the 6th that the sales of decaffeinated beverages are steadily increasing.

In the first quarter of this year, sales of Starbucks decaffeinated beverages increased by about 31% compared to the same period last year. The sales volume of decaffeinated beverages reached 32.7 million cups last year, marking a 55% increase from the previous year, setting an all-time high.

Starbucks explained that the popularity of decaffeinated beverages can also be seen in import and export statistics. According to the Korea Customs Service's import and export trade statistics, the import volume of decaffeinated green beans and coffee beans last year was 7,023.1 tons, an increase of 7.7% from the previous year.

A Starbucks representative said, “One out of every 10 Americanos ordered is decaffeinated,” adding, “As the trend of enjoying health, or 'healthy pleasure', continues, the sales of decaffeinated beverages are expected to steadily increase.”

Starbucks announced on the 6th that it will hold a '1+1 event' from the 7th to the 13th, where customers can receive an extra cup when purchasing decaffeinated beverages from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The event targets five types of beverages: decaffeinated café Americano, decaffeinated café latte, decaffeinated flat white, decaffeinated caramel macchiato, and decaffeinated Starbucks Dolce latte. During the event, if customers visit the store and order the target beverage, they will receive an additional cup of the same size.
