GS Shop announced on the 6th that it will present chef Kim Mi-ryeong's 'garlic tteokbokki,' well-known as 'Imokase No. 1,' as a convenient meal.
GS Shop plans to broadcast 'Imokase No. 1 garlic tteokbokki' on TV home shopping at 6:35 p.m. on the 7th. Garlic tteokbokki is one of the signature dishes at the Joyful Restaurant operated by chef Kim.
Chef Kim appeared in last year's popular Netflix cooking variety show 'Culinary Class Wars,' becoming the only female chef from a low-income background to reach the final eight, finishing in sixth place.
Imokase No. 1 garlic tteokbokki is a dish served at the end of the joyful course menu, made with a generous amount of domestically produced minced garlic. The chef blends regular and mild red pepper powder in a golden ratio and adds Cheongyang chili pepper extract to replicate the taste of the dish served in the restaurant.
Chef Kim also introduced collaborative products with convenience store GS25 at the end of last year. The offerings included 'jeonjang gim,' 'dosirak gim,' 'perilla oil bibimbap,' and 'tuksundae soup,' among which the 'jeonjang gim' sold out with all 1,500 sets prepared within an hour during pre-sale. The 'dosirak gim' launched later sold 1.2 million packs by the end of March, and 300,000 bibimbaps and tuksundae soups were also sold.
The Imokase No. 1 garlic tteokbokki, presented in a live broadcast this time, was also previewed through data home shopping in mid-March, where more than 10,000 individual units were sold during the broadcast.
