Vino H, the wine import and distribution company established by Hyundai Department Store Group, won the 'Best of 2025' award at the Korea Wine & Spirits Awards for the highest-scoring wine among Old World red wines.
The Korea Wine & Spirits Awards, now in its 12th year, is the representative wine competition of Korea. It has been held annually by ChosunBiz since 2014 with the goal of 'discovering and promoting good domestic alcohol and supporting the formation of a sound alcohol culture.'
This year's event featured 236 companies presenting a total of 1,008 brands, making it the largest domestic competition for comprehensive alcoholic beverages. Of these, 431 brands received awards.
Coto de Imaz Gran Reserva won both 'Best of 2025' and the 'Daesang' in the Old World red wine category, marking it as a double winner. Additionally, six wines, including 'Garnier & Fils Chablis', 'Le Petit Chardonnay de Bruno Lafon', 'Le Petit Pinot de Bruno Lafon', 'El Coto Crianz', and 'El Coto, Coto Real', received awards in their respective categories.
A representative from Vino H said, 'Winning the top award for two consecutive years, following last year, demonstrates our excellent wine sourcing capabilities,' adding that last year Vino H's 'Kings of Prohibition Chardonnay' won the 'Best of 2024' in the New World white wine category, and that this year, it also produced a wine that won the top award.
According to Vino H, the 'El Coto' brand is regarded as a national wine recognized for its quality in Spain. It is sold in over 50 countries, not just in Spain. This brand was named 'Spanish Wine Producer of the Year' at the International Wine and Spirit Competition (IWSC) in 2016 based on its continuous quality-centered management.
The award-winning 'Garnier & Fils' is a white wine made in accordance with strict production regulations from the village of Chablis in Burgundy, France. 'Le Petit' is a wine created to enhance value for money by the owner of Domaine des Comtes Lafon, known as one of the top three white wine producers in Burgundy.
Since its establishment in March 2022, Vino H has been introducing new wines to the domestic market by signing exclusive distribution contracts with small wineries that had not been previously introduced in Korea. The recently launched official website of Vino H (www.vino-h.com) provides new wine information and event news every month.
A representative from Vino H stated, 'As expectations for wine among domestic consumers continue to rise, we will keep showcasing distinctive wines with guaranteed quality in the future.'
