The representative corporation of Korean liquor, Jipyeong Brewery's 'Bonidalbam' and 'Bomi' won the grand award in the Korean rice wine sterilized makgeolli category at the 2025 Korea Wine & Spirits Awards.

The Korea Wine & Spirits Awards is the 12th annual representative liquor competition of South Korea this year. Organized by ChosunBiz since 2014, it aims to 'discover and widely promote good domestic liquor and support the formation of a healthy liquor culture.'

This year's event saw 236 companies submit a total of 1,008 brands. It is the largest among domestic competitions that deal with general liquors. Of these, 431 brands received the grand award.

'Bonidalbam' is a dessert makgeolli characterized by its subtle sweetness, made with domestic chestnuts, and has gained great popularity among consumers, with 300,000 bottles being distributed just 100 days after its release. It pairs well not only with traditional makgeolli snacks but also with desserts.

The 'Bomi,' which also won the grand award, is a makgeolli fermented and aged for 48 hours using domestic rice and Jipyeong nuruk, featuring a fresh flavor. It is characterized by notes of apple melon and pear, with a smooth finish reminiscent of yogurt.

A representative from Jipyeong Brewery noted, 'The simultaneous receipt of the grand award by Bonidalbam and Bomi at the Korea Wine & Spirits Awards is the result of enhancing product quality through strict selection of ingredients and quality testing,' adding, 'We will continue to maintain the unique flavors of Jipyeong and carry on our own tradition.'
