The liquor import corporation PNS Wine Company has imported and distributed three Italian wines, including 'Cantina di Negra Amarone della Valpolicella Classico,' which won the grand award at the 2025 Korea Wine & Spirits Awards.

The Korea Wine & Spirits Awards is the country's representative liquor evaluation event, marking its 12th year this year. It has been held annually by ChosunBiz since 2014 with the goal of discovering and widely promoting good domestic beverages and supporting the formation of a healthy liquor culture.

This year's event featured 236 companies submitting a total of 1,008 brands, making it the largest domestic evaluation of its kind. Among them, 431 brands received the grand award.

'Cantina di Negra Amarone della Valpolicella Classico' is produced by the winery Cantina di Negra in northern Italy, which has held the first Amarone since 1936. It has been known as a distinguished house for making excellent Amarone wines since that era, and has won the Grand Gold at the overseas Berlin Wine Trophy more than twice, showcasing its superb quality.

The Somnium Barbera d'Asti and La Pietra Chardonnay, produced by the Liao family's Piancaner Winery, the oldest of six families in the Asti region, were awarded in the red wine category for wines priced between 60,000 won and 100,000 won, and in the white wine category for wines priced between 30,000 won and 60,000 won, respectively.

PNS Wine Company opened in July 2022, achieving remarkable success with awards in three institutional sectors at the Korea Wine & Spirits Awards in 2023, nine institutional sectors in 2024, and three categories of imported wines anticipated for 2025.

A representative from PNS Wine Company stated, "PNS Wine Company is a specialized importer of Italian wines established last year," and added, "We will continue to discover unknown good Italian wines and ask for your expectations and support for our future endeavors beyond 2025."
