On the 18th, Coupang Eats announced a plan to implement a mutually beneficial fee system. This decision is in accordance with an agreement reached last year in the delivery platform cooperative.

Fewer sales will lead to lower fees for operators; operators in the bottom 20% of sales will see their fees reduced by 7.8 percentage points. For sales, those in the top 35% will have a fee of 7.8% (excluding VAT), those in the 35% to 80% range will have a fee of 6.8%, and those above 80% will pay a fee of 2.0%.

Sales intervals will be set based on actual monthly sales. From the 1st to the end of each month, the fee interval will be calculated based on the actual monthly sales amount, with a basic commission fee of 7.8%, and any differences from already settled amounts will be refunded.

A Coupang Eats representative noted, "This is a plan that allows for fee intervals to be adjusted according to periods of low sales due to seasonal factors, reducing the burden on operators during difficult times."

Delivery fees will range from 1,900 won to 3,400 won. For those in the top 35%, delivery fees will be higher at 2,400 won to 3,400 won. Those in the 35% to 50% range will be charged 2,100 won to 3,100 won, while those above 50% will pay 1,900 won to 2,900 won.

According to Coupang Eats, implementing the mutually beneficial fee system will save operators up to 1,950 won in expense when fulfilling an average order of 25,000 won.

Specifically, in the range above 80% to 100%, operators can save 1,950 won, while those in the 35% to 80% range can save 550 won to 750 won. In the top 35% range, the expense remains the same as before.

A Coupang Eats representative stated, "We plan to faithfully implement a mutually beneficial fee system that supports small businesses based on the spirit and discussions of the cooperative and will strive to create an environment in which we can grow together with the operators."
