The new CEO, Park, joined Dongwon Industries in 1998 and has built his expertise in marine and fisheries by serving in sales, finance, and planning, ultimately rising to the head of the Marine Fisheries Division. Dongwon Group plans to hold a shareholders' meeting on March 26, where Park will be elected as an inside director and subsequently officially appointed as CEO after the board of directors.

Min Eun-hong, the former representative in charge of the Dongwon Industries division, has moved to the position of CEO at StarKist after being promoted to president.

Min has gained global business experience as the regional representative for six Asian countries, including Singapore and Malaysia, at Procter & Gamble. With the 9-year-long price-fixing dispute over StarKist's products completely resolved through a civil settlement last year, there is expected to be acceleration in growth in the North American market and the establishment of synergies with domestic affiliates.

A Dongwon Group official noted, 'As uncertainties in the external business environment grow, this personnel change was made to further strengthen expertise in each institutional sector and secure future competitiveness.' They added, 'We will enhance the stability of the business through operational efficiency while actively investing to discover new growth engines.'
