The Seoul Housing and Communities Corporation (SH) announced on the 15th that it will supply the purchase rental dwelling "Wiguk Heonsin Youth Housing" for injured veterans.
On this day, SH issued a recruitment announcement for residents of the "Wiguk Heonsin Youth Housing" and will begin accepting applications through the Seoul City Youth Injured Veterans Counseling Center starting August 1.
"Injured veterans" are young people who have sustained physical or mental disabilities during military service and were discharged, but are not classified as honored citizens, leaving them in a welfare blind spot. SH will supply the new construction site 26, located near a transportation hub, as "Wiguk Heonsin Youth Housing" to support their stable housing and social reintegration.
The dwellings are targeted at young injured veterans who do not own homes and currently reside in the Seoul Special City as of the date of the resident recruitment announcement. Eligibility criteria include: ▲ Monthly average income of urban workers at or below 100% ▲ Total assets below 254 million won ▲ Ownership of vehicles valued at 38.03 million won or lower. Residents will be finally selected through an evaluation by the Seoul Welfare Foundation.
The supplied dwellings are located at 191-25 Cheonho-dong, Gangdong-gu, Seoul, and were completed last year. They are within a 9-minute walk from Gangdong Station on Line 5 and a 10-minute walk from Gangdong Sacred Heart Hospital, ensuring excellent access to transportation and living infrastructure.
Residents can move in at a rental price at 50% of the surrounding market rate, and if they belong to low-income households, single-parent families, or near-poor households, they can reside at 30% of the market rate. The deposit is 2 million won, and the monthly rent is 530,000 won. For recipients and similar households, the deposit is 1 million won, and the monthly rent is 320,000 won.
The application period for residents is until the 8th. Move-in is possible starting this November.
Details regarding the application process, eligibility requirements, and necessary documents can be found on the Seoul Welfare Foundation and SH websites.
SH President Hwang Sang-ha noted, "This is the first step in providing practical housing support for the healthy reintegration of young people who have dedicated themselves to the country," adding, "We will continue to think about and implement various policies that strengthen the lives of these individuals."
