Last month, the average sale price of apartments in Seoul continued to rise, surpassing 46 million won per 3.3 square meters.
According to the private apartment sales price trend announced by the Korea Housing & Urban Guarantee Corporation (HUG) on the 15th, last month’s sale price was recorded at 13.93 million won per square meter. This is an increase of 0.87% compared to the previous month (13.81 million won) and 9.97% compared to the previous year (12.67 million won). Converted to 3.3 square meters, it amounts to 46.079 million won. This is the first time that the sale price per pyeong in Seoul has exceeded 46 million won.
The private apartment sale prices reported by HUG refer to the average price of general sale dwellings from private sale projects that had sales guarantees issued during the 12 months prior to the announcement, excluding commercial spaces, officetels, and member sale dwellings.
In the metropolitan area, the sale price per square meter recorded 8.819 million won, an increase of 1.26% compared to the previous month (8.709 million won) and up 7.72% from the previous year (8.187 million won).
The sale price per square meter in the five major cities and Sejong City was 6.026 million won, up 5.76% from the previous month (5.698 million won) and up 0.05% from the same month last year (6.023 million won). The national average sale price per square meter for apartments was 5.895 million won, an increase of 2.50% from the previous month (5.751 million won) and an increase of 4.44% compared to the same month last year (5.644 million won).
The total number of newly sold private apartments nationwide was 11,793 units, a decrease of 2,498 units compared to the same month last year (14,291 units). The number of new sale units in the metropolitan area was 5,407. In the five major cities and Sejong City, a total of 2,645 units were newly sold, while other regions saw 3,741 units.
