On the 29th, President Lee Jae-myung appointed Lee Sang-gyeong, a professor at Gachon University, as the Vice Minister of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.

The Vice Minister, born in Yeongcheon, North Gyeongsang Province, graduated from the Department of Urban Engineering at Seoul National University after attending Deokwon High School in Daegu. He has served as an associate research fellow at the Seoul Development Institute, an executive director of the Korean Institute of Land, Urban, and Transportation Planning, a commissioner at the Gyeonggi Province Urban Planning Committee, and a member of the Public Housing Integration Review Committee at the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.

The presidential office noted, "He is a prominent advocate for real estate reform, strongly asserting the need to block real estate windfall profits and recover development gains," adding, "He has consistently argued for a policy paradigm that recognizes housing as a right, rather than ownership, through the expansion of tailored public housing. In addition, a variety of policy initiatives are expected that take a reformist yet practical approach to enhancing the housing rights of ordinary people."
