On the 17th, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport announced that the 2025 Land and Transport Technology Exchange Meeting would be held from the 19th to the 20th of this month at COEX in Seoul, bringing together experts from academia, industry, and research for the innovation of land and transport technology.

The technology exchange meeting is a platform for revitalizing technology exchange in the land and transport field and building a cooperative network among academia, industry, and research. Experts from various sectors will intensively interact to flexibly embrace advanced technologies, such as artificial intelligence (AI), digital transformation (DX), and robotics, in the land and transport domain and to promote the development of related converged technologies.

This year's technology exchange meeting will be held under the slogan 'Connect Technologies, opening up the infinite possibilities of land and transport technology,' featuring research and development (R&D) technology conferences, grand forums, master lectures, and achievement sharing events.

The opening ceremony will feature a keynote speech by Jang Byeong-tak, director of the AI research center at Seoul National University, under the theme 'The future of land and mobility opened by AI.' The lecture will emphasize that AI technology is a key driving force in changing the paradigm of land and transport and will suggest a direction to move toward becoming a core infrastructure that reshapes the entire mobility ecosystem.

The 'R&D technology conference' during this technology exchange meeting is a core program. Under the theme 'Land and transport technology innovation led by AI and DX,' it will present the latest technology trends and directions related to AI and DX in various land and transport fields, such as SOC, urban development, and spatial information, followed by discussions among expert panels.

In the 'grand forum,' the global and social issues that Korea faces, such as population decline and climate crisis, will be closely examined in relation to land and transport technology. Master lectures featuring top experts in advanced technology fields, including AI, robotics, and quantum technology, will follow, alongside presentations by scientific influencers like Goe-do and Lee Hyo-jong.

At the technology exchange meeting, events will include an 'achievement sharing meeting' to share excellent R&D outcomes in the land and transport field and discuss future strategies for enhancing land and transport R&D results, as well as a 'special exhibition' on national strategic technologies in land and transport, excellent technology matching counseling sessions, and workshops for small and venture enterprises focusing on technology commercialization.

Lee Sang-il, Director General for Policy Planning at the Ministry, said, 'I hope that various discussions will take place through the Land and Transport Technology Exchange Meeting, enabling the land and transport industry to leap forward as a leading advanced industry in the world by converging with innovative technologies such as AI, while enhancing the results of land and transport R&D.' He added, 'We will not spare support for the development of land and transport technology, including core technology development, training of researchers, and commercialization of technologies to ensure continuous advancement of land and transport technology.'
