Daewoo E&C has entered the bidding for the redevelopment of the Gaepo Woosung No. 7 apartment complex in Gangnam, Seoul, and on the 13th, President Kim Bo-hyun announced that he personally visited the site.
On the 12th, the day before, Kim toured the Gaepo Woosung No. 7 complex with employees and noted, “We must present the best business conditions to become a game changer in the Gangnam redevelopment project.”
He added, “We will show that when Daewoo is involved, it is different, and we will do our utmost to win the hearts of the union members rather than focusing on profits,” and requested that the bid proposal fully incorporate the union members' demands.
The Gaepo Woosung No. 7 redevelopment project aims to transform the existing complex of 15 buildings with 14 floors and 802 units into a large complex of 1,122 units with a maximum height of 35 stories. The project scale is estimated at 677.8 billion won.

The company also proposed collaborating with Jean-Michel Wilmotte, who has participated in designing famous buildings such as the Louvre Museum and Incheon International Airport, and plans to apply Daewoo E&C's high-end brand, 'Summit,' for the first time in Gangnam.
A representative from Daewoo E&C stated, “With the overwhelming construction capability accumulated over 52 years in the construction industry, we will create a masterpiece of dwellings that satisfies all union members as a prestigious construction firm firmly maintaining its position as the leader in the housing institutional sector in South Korea.”
The bidding deadline for the Gaepo Woosung No. 7 redevelopment is on the 19th of next month.
