The Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH) announced on the 12th that 1,038 households have been transferred through the relocation support project for residents of basement dwellings in public rental housing.

In response to safety concerns such as the risk of flooding during the summer, LH has suspended the supply of basement public rental housing since 2020. It is supporting existing residents to move to ground-level units.

The support target is 1,810 basement units that were occupied at the beginning of the public rental project in 2004. The current relocation support rate is 57.3%.

Together with this, LH is conducting special safety inspections for basement households ahead of the rainy season, examining flood panels, flood alarm devices, drainage pumps, and more.
