On the 11th, the Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH) announced that it will hold the 'LH Lighting Fixture Design Competition' for small and medium-sized enterprises.
This competition is designed to improve the quality of space design for LH's multi-family housing and support the discovery of excellent products from small and medium-sized enterprises to open new markets. LH plans to utilize the winning designs to create a lighting fixture design pool and reflect them in field designs.
The competition targets a total of 14 items, including ▲unit fixtures (living room lights, bedroom lights, etc.) and ▲common areas (stairwell sensor lights, entrance lights).
Eligibility to participate includes small and medium-sized enterprises that possess the 'Direct Production Certificate' and 'KS Certification' for the lighting fixtures targeted in the competition. Joint applications (shared implementation) are possible for up to two companies that meet the bidding qualification.
The competition schedule is as follows: ▲first submission of works (July 21-24) ▲second submission of works (September 2-5) ▲announcement of winners (end of September). A total of six works will be selected after the first evaluation (design panel) and the second evaluation (physical items) conducted by a judging committee composed of external experts.
Winning companies will receive a plaque along with the right to supply LH multi-family housing lighting fixtures. The company awarded the grand prize (one company) will be able to supply lighting fixtures for projects with a scale of 1,100 units, while those receiving the gold prize (two companies) can supply for projects with 700 units, and those receiving the excellence award (three companies) can supply for projects with 300-400 units.
Oh Ju-hun, head of LH's Public Housing Headquarters, noted, 'By discovering creative and original designs for lighting fixtures through this competition, we expect not only to enhance the quality of living spaces in multi-family housing but also contribute to the discovery of excellent products from small and medium-sized enterprises and the opening of new markets.' He added, 'We will do our best to provide highly satisfactory living spaces.'
