A survey found that parking issues account for 1 in 3 complaints from residents.
According to Apartmenti, a housing support platform, an analysis of over 100,000 complaints registered on the Apartmenti mobile application from last April over the course of a year showed that parking-related complaints made up 33% of the total, representing the largest share.
Noise followed at 20%, while smoking accounted for 19%, and elevators for 12%, in terms of complaint frequency.
Parking-related complaints mainly involved issues such as lack of parking spaces, double parking, and parking of external vehicles. Parking complaints also represented the largest share in last year's survey, and this year, the share increased by 4 percentage points compared to the previous year, indicating ongoing inconvenience for residents.
Noise complaints have increased by 10 percentage points compared to last year, with issues primarily related to inter-floor noise, wall noise, and noise from interior design and construction. In recent years, conflicts among neighbors due to inter-floor noise in apartment complexes have even escalated into actual violence or crime.
In the case of smoking complaints, the number of complaints surged by 15 percentage points compared to the previous year, with more than half attributed to indoor smoking issues.
An official from Apartmenti said, “Complaints regarding parking, noise, and smoking have all increased compared to the previous year,” adding, “We are closely monitoring resident complaints to contribute to the convenience of living in apartment complexes and plan to actively reflect related content during service development.”
