Hyundai E&C is establishing a site-specific emergency medical support system to strengthen safety on construction sites.

Hyundai E&C noted on the 25th that it had signed a memorandum of understanding for emergency medical support with the Andong Hospital Regional Trauma Center in Andong, Gyeongsangbuk-do, on the 23rd.

The signing ceremony was attended by Lim Byeong-cheon, head of safety planning at Hyundai E&C, Chae Jin-seok, head of the nuclear project division, Shin Dal-won, site representative, and Lee Hak-ki, director of clinical affairs at Andong Hospital, along with key officials from the Shinhanul Nuclear Power Plant Units 3 and 4 site and Andong Hospital.

Through this agreement, Hyundai E&C has linked a medical hotline between the Shinhanul Nuclear Power Plant Units 3 and 4 construction site in Uljin, Gyeongsangbuk-do, and Andong Hospital. A specialized system has also been established to respond to severe emergencies, such as trauma and cerebrovascular diseases, via a doctor helicopter.

The Shinhanul Units 3 and 4 project site involves the construction of two nuclear power plants with a capacity of 1,400 megawatts in Buk-myeon, Uljin-gun, Gyeongsangbuk-do. Hyundai E&C is participating as the primary contractor. This site is the largest nuclear power construction site in the country, with a maximum of approximately 4,000 workers deployed daily.

To proactively prepare for emergencies that may arise on-site, Hyundai E&C operates a fire brigade and an emergency room. Medical and fire professionals, including nurses, emergency paramedics, and firefighters, are consistently deployed to focus on prompt initial responses and securing worker safety. Recently, the company launched a '365 Safety Patrol Team' to enhance safety inspection activities across all sites.

A representative of Hyundai E&C stated, "The life and safety of workers are core values that corporations must prioritize protecting," adding, "We will use this agreement as an opportunity to establish a practical response foundation that secures the golden time in emergencies and continuously advance safety management systems suitable for construction sites."
