The World Hydrogen Summit is the largest hydrogen-related event in Europe, with participation from over 700 corporations from 130 countries this year to discuss the overall hydrogen industry.

'Compass H2' is a technological solution that provides all phases from the feasibility study for constructing green hydrogen production plants to EPC (engineering, procurement, construction) and quality assurance.

Samsung E&A explained that it reduced the facility area by 20% compared to existing hydrogen production facilities by applying design optimization technology and effectively arranging high-efficiency electrolysis stacks and auxiliary facilities, thereby enhancing the efficiency of green hydrogen production and lowering hydrogen production expense.

Samsung E&A and Nel have been pushing to develop the optimal green hydrogen production solution based on their differentiated technologies and capabilities. Subsequently, they formalized their collaboration by signing an equity acquisition and partnership agreement in March and launched the jointly developed Compass H2 this time. In the future, both companies plan to continue cooperating to enhance the solution, including applying polymer electrolyte membrane electrolysis (PEM) technology to Compass H2.

A Samsung E&A official noted, 'The launch of this Compass H2 will be an important opportunity to demonstrate Samsung E&A's technological prowess and business capabilities in the global hydrogen market,' adding, 'We plan to actively engage in sales activities to accelerate the commercialization of green hydrogen production plants.'
