POSCO E&C expressed its apologies again on the 20th regarding the Shin-Ahn-San Line construction site collapse.
On the same day, POSCO E&C released a statement related to a press conference urging measures for the Shin-Ahn-San Line construction site accident, saying, "We deeply apologize once again for the worry and damage caused by the accident during the construction of the underground tunnel in segment 5-2 of the Shin-Ahn-San Line."
It added, "The company is fully aware of the seriousness of this incident and is prioritizing the safety and recovery of affected residents, working to ensure prompt and responsible compensation." It also stated, "We are continuously discussing support measures with the impacted residents, such as advance payments for evacuation costs and business losses, and operating vehicles to alleviate transportation inconvenience."
POSCO E&C noted, "We are actively cooperating with the accident investigation committee to determine the cause of the incident and establish prevention measures, and we are also conducting safety inspections for the entire Shin-Ahn-San Line route."
It continued, "We deeply apologize once again to those who are experiencing inconvenience and suffering from this accident, and we will fulfill our responsibility to ensure that the lives of affected residents stabilize and recover as soon as possible."
Meanwhile, on the same day, residents from the accident-affected area held a press conference, urging for ▲prompt compensation from POSCO E&C ▲special safety inspections of the ground ▲comprehensive support measures for housing, livelihoods, health, and education.
