Minister Park Sang-woo of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport will attend the ministerial meeting on regional development policy of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) held in Warsaw, Poland, from the 19th to the 22nd, as well as the OECD International Transport Forum (ITF) ministerial meeting in Leipzig, Germany, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport announced on the 18th.

The upcoming meetings will discuss shared global issues such as low birth rates, climate change, and digital transition. The OECD regional development policy meeting is a high-level conference held every five years under the auspices of the OECD Regional Development Policy Committee. This year, over 50 countries and organizations will participate under the theme "Strengthening regional policies for resilient regions." Minister Park will present on the directions for building ultra-large megacities to respond to local extinction and enhance regional competitiveness as one of three lead speakers.

The ITF ministerial meeting is a forum that gathers transportation ministers and international organizations from over 60 countries around the world. It will address climate change issues, promote transportation policies such as K-Pass, and discuss global governance and cooperation measures. Minister Park will also request interest and support for the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit scheduled to be held in Gyeongju this year.

Meanwhile, Minister Park plans to hold bilateral meetings with Poland, Ukraine, and others in conjunction with this conference. An MOU will be signed with Poland for cooperation in the smart city sector. Discussions will be held with Poland on cooperation plans for the reconstruction of Ukraine, and support activities will be carried out to increase the participation of our corporations in building transportation infrastructure such as a new airport high-speed rail and roads. Meetings will also be held with domestic construction and engineering corporations that have entered the local market.

Minister Park said, "Korea will work with the OECD to spread the values and norms of the OECD for solving global common issues while developing more inclusive policies in the domestic land and transportation sectors for a sustainable future for all."
