Kim Yong-hwa, the director of the movie series Along with the Gods 1 and 2, has recently sold a luxury apartment at Nine One Hannam in Seoul for 25 billion won. Having bought it for 7.5 billion won in 2021, he gained a capital gain of 17.5 billion won in just four years. Nine One Hannam is known to have a total of 341 households and is home to many corporations and famous artists.
According to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, a unit at Nine One Hannam was sold for 25 billion won in February 17. This amount is the highest price for transactions involving apartments, multi-family houses, and townhouses since the government began disclosing actual transaction prices in 2006.
The real estate industry reports that Kim is allegedly the seller of this unit. The unit has a supply area of 334.17 square meters (about 101 pyeong) and a dedicated area of 273.94 square meters (about 82 pyeong). Kim reportedly purchased this apartment in full cash for 7.5 billion won in March 2021.
Kim made his debut in 2003 with the film Oh! Brothers. He later directed the 2006 film My Girl and the 2009 film National Team. The work that made Kim known as a so-called '10 million director' is Along with the Gods. The 2017 release Along with the Gods: The Two Worlds recorded an audience of 14.41 million, and the 2018 film Along with the Gods: The Last 49 Days attracted 12.27 million viewers.
