SK ecoplant announced on the 15th that its consolidated operating profit for the first quarter of this year was 57 billion won. This is a 0.7% increase from the same period last year.

During the same period, sales increased by 26.5% compared to the previous year, totaling 2.61 trillion won. The net profit for the period was 50.8 billion won, up 17.9%.

Despite rising raw material prices and a slowdown in the construction market, SK ecoplant slightly improved profitability thanks to the growth of its semiconductor business and the performance reflected from its subsidiaries, SK Airplus and Essencore, which were incorporated at the end of last year.

The increase in sales is attributed to the expansion of new revenue in the semiconductor business and the effects of commencing construction for the Yongin Semiconductor Cluster Phase 1.

SK ecoplant plans to strengthen its comprehensive semiconductor service business by incorporating four subsidiaries of SK Materials: SK trichem, SK resonac, SK materials jnc, and SK materials performance.

A representative from SK ecoplant noted, “In addition to our existing business, we will provide differentiated services that encompass building semiconductor production infrastructure, EPC (engineering, procurement, construction), and high value-added materials, modules, and recycling.” They added, “We expect to secure stable revenue and maximize business synergy, contributing to our financial soundness and enhancing corporate value.”
