The 'Han River Mansion' apartment complex in Yongsan-gu, built in 1971, has finally entered the full-scale reconstruction process.
Yongsan-gu announced on the 12th that it will conduct a public review of the 'Han River Mansion Apartment reconstruction maintenance zone and maintenance plan (change) (draft)' until June 9.
The Han River Mansion reconstruction was originally planned to be 68 stories high, but it has been adjusted to a maximum of 59 stories and a scale of 1,685 units. This revised plan was officially submitted to Yongsan District Office in April, reflecting the advice of public architects and the Seoul City Planning Committee.
The maintenance plan includes various public contribution measures, such as creating a linear park linked to Han River Park, securing green corridor connectivity between Han River and Namsan, and establishing a pedestrian-friendly green space from Ichon Station to Han River Park. Additionally, the transfer of the narrow Ichon-dong community center and the arrangement of linear commercial spaces along Ichon Road will also be pursued to improve the living environment.
The public review materials can be viewed at the housing department on the 7th floor of Yongsan District Office and the Han River Mansion Apartment reconstruction association office. Residents can submit their opinions via registered mail or by visiting the housing department.
Yongsan-gu will hold a residents' briefing session at the Dream Room Theater on the 4th floor of Yongsan Youth Center on the 23rd of this month, and will subsequently proceed with procedures such as gathering opinions from the district council and applying for integrated review to Seoul City.
Completed in 1971, Han River Mansion is currently a low-rise complex of 5 stories and 660 units. The reconstruction process has gone through the establishment of a promotion committee in 2003, the formation of an association in 2017, the approval of project implementation in 2021, and the approval of management disposition in 2022.
