HDC Hyundai Development Company announced on the 9th that it will create a transportation hub complex by directly connecting the underground space of the Yongsan Maintenance Depot, Zone 1 to Yongsan Station.

Currently, it is possible to use the subway (Yongsan Station, Sin-Yongsan Station) within a 15-minute walk from Zone 1 of the Yongsan Maintenance Depot, but direct consolidation with the complex is difficult.

Accordingly, HDC Hyundai Development Company, the main developer in the area around Yongsan Station, proposed a plan in its bid proposal to design an underground passage and commercial spaces directly connected to Yongsan Station, securing an additional area of approximately 19,300 square meters (5,843 pyeong). The company explained that this space is not included in the floor area ratio, leading to increased rental income from commercial spaces and reduced burden fees for members.

An official from HDC Hyundai Development Company noted, "We have been preparing for the bid for Zone 1 of the Yongsan Maintenance Depot under the concept of 'consolidation.' The fact that we are also developing the underground space at the park in front of Yongsan Station and the site for the railway hospital, in addition to the Yongsan I-Park Mall where our headquarters is located, is a significant advantage."

Meanwhile, the contractor for Zone 1 of the Yongsan Maintenance Depot is expected to be selected after the general meeting of members in June.
