The Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH) announced on the 9th that it conducted the 'Visiting Youth Housing Counseling Center (Employee Edition)' at the Seoul Metropolitan Youth Center in Yongsan District, Seoul on the 8th.

The 'Visiting Youth Housing Counseling Center' is a program promoted in collaboration with the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, LH, the Central Youth Support Center, and other relevant agencies, aimed at informing youths about tailored housing policies and programs in places where many young people gather, such as universities. Last year, the program conducted three youth housing counseling training sessions at the Chungbuk Youth Center and Korea Aerospace University.

This counseling center was conducted for employees of 223 youth centers nationwide, which play a bridging role between young people and policies. Youth centers are established and operated to provide various youth support programs, including information on youth policies, employment, welfare, and culture, in accordance with the Youth Basic Act and local government ordinances.

LH diversified the educational topics to ensure that appropriate consultations regarding necessary counseling, from the latest information on public housing and financial support policies to methods to prevent rental fraud, are adequately conducted for young people visiting the center. It also consolidated the operations of the counseling center by surveying program satisfaction and areas for improvement.

LH plans to expand the 'Visiting Housing Counseling Center' to operate at least once a month until the end of the year. The plan includes opening housing counseling centers in places where young people are densely populated, such as universities, military bases, and youth centers, as well as providing housing support education and creating spaces for communication.

Oh Joo-hun, head of the LH Public Housing Headquarters, said, 'We have implemented this first program for employees to enhance their understanding of housing policies and counseling expertise, as they are the ones delivering youth policies closest to young people.' He added, 'In the future, we will strengthen tailored housing support to ensure housing stability and improve the quality of life for young people, who are the main players in our society.'
