The bidding for the construction of the Jamsil Woosung 1, 2, and 3 phases in Songpa District, Seoul, and Gaepo Jugong 6 and 7 complexes failed as both GS Engineering and Construction and Hyundai E&C participated independently.
According to the maintenance industry on the 7th, the bidding for the construction of the Jamsil Woosung 1, 2, and 3 apartment complex, which closed that afternoon, was only participated in by GS Engineering and Construction, leading to the failure of competitive bidding. Following the first round of bidding in March, GS Engineering and Construction also submitted a solo bid this time. If there are two consecutive failures, the union can hold a general meeting to select a construction company and decide on the possibility of a private contract. Accordingly, there is a chance the union may enter into a private contract with GS Engineering and Construction.
The Jamsil Woosung 1, 2, and 3 apartment complex, completed in 1981, consists of 1,842 units. It is being redeveloped into a complex of 2,860 units with 4 basement floors and 49 above-ground floors on a site of 120,354 square meters. The Jamsil Sports Complex, where the MICE development project is underway, is located right in front of the complex, and the construction cost amounts to approximately 1.7 trillion won.
On that day, a re-bid was held for the selection of a construction company for the redevelopment of the Gaepo Jugong 6 and 7 complexes, with Hyundai E&C submitting a solo bid. Following two failures, the likelihood increased that the union would enter into a private contract with Hyundai E&C.
The Gaepo Jugong 6 and 7 complexes currently consist of 1,960 units and are being redeveloped into a total of 2,698 units. The total construction cost is approximately 1.5 trillion won.
