MDM Group Chairman Moon Joo-hyun met with Donald Trump Jr., the son of U.S. President Donald Trump, on the 30th.
Trump Jr. plays a key role in large-scale real estate development at the Trump Group.
According to the development industry, Chairman Moon had a conversation with Trump Jr. for about 30 minutes at a hotel in Gangnam, Seoul.
The meeting between Chairman Moon and Trump Jr. is said to have taken place in a secure area. The two groups are reported to have agreed to actively cooperate on real estate development in the United States and South Korea.
This meeting is attracting attention in the industry as two developers representing South Korea and the United States come together.
Trump Jr. studied economics at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and joined the Trump Group, overseeing real estate, hotels, and golf businesses. He has developed projects such as Trump Tower in India and a hotel in Vancouver, Canada.
As a first-generation real estate developer in South Korea, Chairman Moon leads MDM Group, which consists of real estate development, trust, Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs), and capital. In 2021, MDM was designated as a large business group by the Fair Trade Commission, becoming the first among domestic developers.
Trump Jr. visited South Korea on the 29th at the invitation of Chung Yong-jin, Chairman of Shinsegae Group.
