Samsung C&T plans to lead the platform business that integrates various solutions, such as generative artificial intelligence (AI) and information technology (IT) technologies, breaking away from the traditional construction-centered business of construction companies.

Samsung C&T is leading the change in new residential culture with the launch of the next-generation residential platform 'Homeniq' in August 2023. 'Homeniq' is an integrated home platform that allows users to access all residential services, including digital smart home services, cultural activities, and health management.

Through the Homeground menu, users can check management fees and participate in surveys, as well as utilize the communication features of residents' representative meetings. Additionally, the advanced security system 'Homeniq OnePass' provides a convenient and safe entry environment for residents, along with various convenience features such as IoT device control, community facility reservations, and visitor vehicle registrations.

The Life Inside menu supports community activities where residents share their hobbies and interests through a communication bulletin board. It provides necessary goods and services for residential life at reasonable prices through the Homeniq Club, Homeniq tools, and Apartment Care.

In particular, Homeniq has laid the groundwork for exclusive services and benefits across various apartment complexes nationwide, collaborating with the top apartment-specific app 'Apart아이' and the residential complex management company 'Tower PMC' last year.

Samsung C&T has signed strategic partnerships with other brand apartments such as Hanwha Construction and HS HWASUNG to expand the implementation of Homeniq, while continuously creating synergies by customizing features owned by other companies.

As a result, Homeniq has exceeded 50,000 households in usage just a year and a half after its launch. Starting with implementations focused on newly constructed complexes, recently, the Homeniq platform has also been applied to existing complexes, surpassing the number of applied households to over 6,000 across 8 complexes including the Munrae Hillstate and Banpo Acro River Park.

Samsung C&T proposed the application of Homeniq in the Hanam 4th District, selected as a construction company in January, raising expectations for a smart residential experience. In the future, the company plans to actively propose the introduction of Homeniq to upcoming bidding complexes in Jamsil, Yeouido, and Apgujeong, expanding the ecosystem.

Another pillar of Samsung C&T's platform business expansion is 'Bynd.' Samsung C&T launched the commercial building platform 'Bynd' in October last year, accelerating the establishment of smart buildings that add digital space innovation. The Aju Smart Tower in Gangdong-gu, where Bynd was first applied, was completed in December last year.

'Bynd' is a building platform that integrates various services needed in commercial buildings. It connects and allows for free integration of infrastructure, facilities, and electronic devices within the building, utilizing the experiences and know-how of Samsung C&T, which has constructed numerous buildings, along with digital intelligence technologies such as generative AI, IoT, and cloud.

'Bynd' applies about 100 services, including work environment monitoring and management, smart access, reservations for seats or conference rooms, and ordering and payment for shops within the building using automation and intelligent technologies.

It also includes numerous functions that allow buildings to be managed smartly based on digital twin technology. Managers can monitor and actively control the management of facilities such as fire safety, electricity, and lighting, as well as real-time monitoring of building energy and internal and external environments through the platform.

General users can easily use electronic devices, call elevators, reserve conference rooms and common seats through digital twin kiosks. It also offers functions for checking rental status and making payments, making efficient and versatile asset management possible.

Samsung C&T plans to continue expanding partnerships with leading companies and promising startups in areas such as smart offices, building control, digital twin, proptech, and energy, while establishing a foundation for the platform ecosystem and continuously expanding differentiated services.
