The Seoul Housing and Communities Corporation (SH Corporation), the Seoul Metropolitan Council, and the Korea Association of City Planning Experts announced on the 21st that they will jointly hold a 'Policy Forum for All Safe Dwellings' on the 24th at 3 p.m. in the second conference room of the Seoul City Council.

Safe dwellings are a new public housing model that integrates the development and supply of safe dwellings for youths, seniors, and newlywed couples, based on the 'Special Act on Private Rental Housing.' It aims to create a living environment where all classes can reside safely.

This forum was organized to discuss ways to promote 'safe dwellings for all' in response to demographic changes such as low birth rates, youth housing instability, and the entry into an ultra-aged society.

During the forum, Kim Gi-jung, a senior researcher at SH Urban Research Institute, will present on 'Characteristics of Safe Dwellings for Youths and Future Improvement Directions,' while Professor Seo Won-seok of Chung-Ang University will discuss 'Understanding Housing for the Elderly Overseas and Policy Implications: Focusing on the United States.'

The following discussion will be moderated by Chairperson Kim Tae-soo of the Seoul City Council Housing and Space Committee, with panelists including Professor Lee Chang-hyo of Hanbat University, Lee Jeong-hoon, external cooperation representative of IGIS Asset Management, Commissioner Kim Jong-gil of the Seoul City Council Housing and Space Committee, SH Urban Research Institute Director Kim Byeong-yeon, and Seoul City Strategic Housing Supply Division Head Choi Won-seok, who will share their views on strategies and implementation plans to promote safe dwellings.

SH Corporation President Hwang Sang-ha stated, 'Safe dwellings for all are an important public housing policy that reflects the characteristics and housing needs of each household,' adding, 'I hope this forum will yield practical solutions to revitalize the project.'
