The city of Seoul has begun recruiting its first residents this year for the public rental dwelling "Miri Neighborhood House" to ensure housing stability for newlyweds.

On the 11th, the city of Seoul announced that it would recruit residents for the "4th Miri Neighborhood House," a program aimed at providing stable dwellings and home-buying opportunities for newlyweds planning childbirth or marriage. Residents can stay for up to 20 years if their household size increases due to childbirth or adoption and can purchase the dwellings at prices lower than the market rate.

The Miri Neighborhood House currently recruiting residents includes a total of 567 units, with 367 long-term rental dwellings II and 200 support deposit-type units. The recruitment announcement for long-term rental dwellings II will be made on the 11th, and applications will be accepted from the 24th to the 25th. The dwelling sizes range from 41 square meters to 84 square meters.

The I-Park Jeong of Imun-dong in Dongdaemun District will supply a total of 212 units, including exclusive areas of 41 square meters and 59 square meters. It is a large-scale apartment complex located between the Foreign Language University Station and Shin-Imun Station on Line 1. The Jung-Hwa River Sun SK View Lotte Castle in Jungnang District offers a total of 11 units, including exclusive areas of 49 square meters, 59 square meters, 70 square meters, and 84 square meters. It enjoys convenient transportation due to its proximity to Jung-Hwa Station on Line 7 and is located near Jungnangcheon waterfront park. Additionally, 15 complexes will recruit residents, including 57 units at Lotte Castle East Pole in Gwangjin District, 22 units at Olympic Park Foreon in Gangdong District, 18 units at Hillstate e-Pyeonhansesang Munjeong in Songpa District, and 12 units at Hillstate Gwanak Central CL in Gwanak District. On the 28th, 200 units of the "Deposit Support Type Miri Neighborhood House" will be newly recruited. The deposit support type Miri Neighborhood House is a rental dwelling linked to long-term safe housing. Long-term safe housing provides interest-free support for up to 60 million won of the security deposit for the housing the tenant wishes to move into. If a child is born during the residency, the opportunity to transition to long-term rental dwellings will be provided after 10 years of residency.

Choi Jin-seok, head of the Seoul Housing Office, noted, "Interest in the Miri Neighborhood House has been high, recording a maximum competition rate of 328 to 1 during the three recruitment rounds conducted last year," and added, "This year, we will focus on supplying Miri Neighborhood Houses to create an environment conducive to raising children."
