Samsung C&T's construction division announced on the 10th that it signed a business agreement with the Ministry of Employment and Labor's Central Regional Office on the 9th at the Raemian Songdo Station Centripole construction site in Yeonsu District, Incheon, to enhance construction site safety.

Through this agreement, Samsung C&T and the Central Regional Office of the Ministry of Employment and Labor plan to actively discover and apply smart safety technologies, such as drone inspections of construction equipment and an artificial intelligence (AI)-based heavy equipment hazard notification system, at construction sites.

Samsung C&T and the Central Regional Office of the Ministry of Employment and Labor plan to promote safety culture by having executives lead safety activities, such as inspections of construction sites, and create a safety culture that involves both the company and its workers. They also plan to expand mutual cooperation to prevent wage arrears and protect workers' rights.

In line with policies to enhance construction site safety, Samsung C&T is actively introducing smart safety technologies to strengthen its on-site safety management capabilities. Additionally, major executives, including the chief executive officer (CEO) and chief safety officer (CSO), are making efforts to foster a safety culture by conducting over 30 site inspections in the past three months.

Min Gil-soo, the head of the Central Regional Office of the Ministry of Employment and Labor, noted, "It is very meaningful that Samsung C&T is proactively introducing smart safety technologies and promoting safety activities centered on management. I hope this partnership between the Ministry of Employment and Labor and Samsung C&T serves as an opportunity to spread safety culture at construction sites and improve the overall safety level in the construction industry."

Kim Sang-guk, head of the housing development division at Samsung C&T, emphasized, "Safety is the top priority for corporations, and it is an essential element for sustainable growth in the construction industry. Through this business agreement, we will further strengthen our partnership to establish a safe construction environment and fulfill our role as a leading company in construction site safety."
