On the 3rd, the Seoul Metropolitan Government announced that it has re-designated 4.58㎢ of major redevelopment areas, including Apgujeong, Yeouido, Mokdong, and Seongsu, as land transaction permission zones during the 5th Urban Planning Committee meeting.

The target areas include ▲ Apgujeong Apartment District in Gangnam-gu ▲ Yeouido Apartment District in Yeongdeungpo-gu and 17 nearby districts ▲ 14 districts in Mokdong Land Development Project in Yangcheon-gu ▲ Seongsu Strategic Maintenance Area (District 1 to 4). These regions were approaching the expiration of the designation as land transaction permission zones on the 26th.

As a result of this Urban Planning Committee decision, the duration of the land transaction permission zones has been extended by one year until April 26, 2026. The land transaction permission zone requires obtaining permission from the district office when trading dwellings, commercial properties, land, etc., to prevent the practice known as "gap investment", which involves purchasing homes with deposits.

Seoul City designated five locations in the Moa Town area, such as 61 Sungi-dong in Jongno-gu and 46-1 Changjeon-dong in Mapo-gu, as land transaction permission zones.

This measure was taken to block speculation using equity split, and only land designated as "road" has been included in the land transaction permission zones.

The designated period is from the 15th of this month until April 14, 2030. The land transaction permission zone designation for the area of Moa Town in Jayang-dong 12-10 has been revoked following a request for withdrawal from the Gwangjin-gu project.

Seoul City explained that this is a measure to "block speculative transactions and establish a transparent market order focused on actual demand."
