HanmiGlobal, a corporations specialized in construction project management, announced that it donated 50 million won to the Hope Bridge National Disaster Relief Association on the 1st to assist residents affected by the large-scale forest fire in the Yeongnam region.
On that day, HanmiGlobal held a donation ceremony at the Hope Bridge National Disaster Relief Association building located on Sinsu-ro in Mapo-gu, Seoul, attended by HanmiGlobal President Choi Seong-soo, Warm Companionship Executive Director Lee Gwang-jae, and Hope Bridge National Disaster Relief Association Chairman Song Pil-ho.
The donation will be used for recovery activities such as emergency livelihood support, provision of relief supplies, and operation of temporary shelters for residents in the fire-affected areas, including Ulsan, North Gyeongsang, and South Gyeongsang provinces. HanmiGlobal also plans to conduct volunteer activities for the recovery of the fire-affected regions, providing spatial welfare support for the disabled and residents in collaboration with the social welfare corporation Warm Companionship.
Since its founding in 1996, HanmiGlobal has consistently participated in donations and volunteer activities to help socially marginalized groups, including the disabled. Since 2010, through Warm Companionship, all employees have been donating 1% of their salary each year, while the company donates 2% through a '3% donation system.'
The Hope Bridge National Disaster Relief Association, established in 1961 by media outlets and social organizations nationwide, specializes in disaster relief fundraising and conducts main activities such as emergency relief for disasters, fundraising and distribution of national donations, recovery of local communities after disasters, and support for vulnerable groups. It has provided 1.6 trillion won in donations and over 60 million units of relief supplies to date.
