On the 13th, President Lee Jae-myung appointed Kang Joo-yeop, the current Vice Administrator of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport, as the new Administrator of the Korea Administrative City Construction Agency.
The new Administrator, Kang, born in 1970 and originally from Daejeon, graduated from Myungsuk High School in Daejeon and the Department of Civil Engineering at Seoul National University before obtaining a master's degree in engineering from King's College, London.
Kang entered public service through the 32nd technical examination in 1996 and has held positions such as Director General for Policy Planning, Logistics Policy Director, and Spokesperson at the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport. Since June of last year, he has served as the Vice Administrator at the Korea Administrative City Construction Agency. Kang has received evaluations for his strong political sense and planning capabilities.
Kang Yoo-jung, Spokesperson for the President's Office, noted that Kang, the Administrator, is a current Vice Administrator who has served as a spokesperson, logistics policy director, and director general for policy planning at the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, and expressed expectations that he would support the President's philosophy of national balanced development based on his expertise and continuity in his work.
