The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy announced on the 10th that it plans to establish a joint 'RE100 industrial complex task force (TF)' with related agencies. The RE100 industrial complex is an industrial zone that utilizes the region's abundant renewable energy to support the RE100 goals of the corporations located there, and it is a key national agenda being actively pursued by the new government.
The RE100 industrial complex task force will be led by Deputy Minister Shin-hak Moon of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, with participation from Deputy Ministers of related ministries including the Ministry of Economy and Finance, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, the Ministry of Environment, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Ministry of Education, and the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries.
Each ministry plans to discover all possible policy tools in areas such as ▲corporation support ▲industrial complex infrastructure ▲renewable energy infrastructure through organic cooperation and formulate a plan for the establishment of the RE100 industrial complex by the end of the year. There will also be discussions on establishing special laws to strongly support corporate attraction through the task force.
Deputy Minister Shin-hak Moon stated, 'The RE100 industrial complex is an important task that links the competitiveness of our country’s export corporations with the utilization of local renewable energy resources, ultimately leading to regional economic revitalization.' He noted, 'We will steadily promote this by consolidating the whole government's capabilities.'
