Representative Park Chan-dae, who ran in the Democratic Party of Korea leadership election, said on the 5th, "Judicial reform will be completed by the end of September."
On that day, Park noted at a talk concert held at Jeonju University, "The crisis in our country started with the prosecution, and I believe it will end with judicial reform."
He said, "Fighting against the political prosecution that has lasted for the past 70 or 80 years is not easy," adding, "The National Assembly held a sword of impeachment against prosecutors during Yoon Suk-yeol's administration to hold accountable those prosecutors who have immense prosecutorial powers."
Park also mentioned the recent criticism from Rebuilding Korea Party Representative Park Eun-jung that the first high-ranking prosecutor appointments under Lee Jae-myung's government were all filled with "pro-Yoon prosecutors."
Park stated, "President Lee Jae-myung has faced the most oppression, but I don't think he would appoint someone who would hinder judicial reform. I believe he made those appointments after deep consideration."
He continued, "Please give a little more time and observe what results and achievements come, and I believe that the institutional legislation will be completed by at least August, or by September at the latest, as the framework for judicial reform has been finalized."
