Park Min-young, spokesperson for the People Power Party, noted on the 28th that regarding the government's real estate loan restrictions, "A farce has unfolded where the Lee Jae-myung administration denies the policies of the Lee Jae-myung presidential office and shifts responsibility, which should neither happen nor be possible."
The spokesperson said in a commentary that day, "I express deep regret over the policies of the Lee Jae-myung government that take away the hopes of the people aimed at homeownership as soon as they take office," and made this statement.
This is a criticism of the statement made the previous day by Spokesperson Kang Yu-jeong from the presidential office, who explained that the measures announced jointly by the government, including the Financial Services Commission, are "not Presidential Office measures."
The spokesperson pointed out, "In a situation where the average house price in Seoul exceeds 1.3 billion won, capping the loan limit at 600 million won means only those with at least 700 million won in cash can realize their dream of homeownership," adding, "This is an amount that those in their 20s and 30s would need to save for over 20 years while merely breathing, based on average wages."
They further questioned, "Is the direction of the Lee Jae-myung government's real estate policy designed to ensure that only the cash-rich can buy houses and exacerbate inequality?"
Choi Soo-jin, the floor spokesperson, also said in a commentary that day, "Spokesperson Kang used a detached rhetorical style regarding the announcement of loan regulations, stating that 'the measures came from the Financial Services Commission' and '(the Presidential Office) has never put forth any position or policy on real estate issues,' " and criticized, "If it is not the policy of the Lee Jae-myung government, then whose policy is it?"
The floor spokesperson pointed out, "During the Yoon Suk-yeol administration, the Democratic Party of Korea submitted a total of 29 impeachment motions, and has paralyzed state operations by exploiting its position as the majority party, including unprecedented budget cuts by the opposition alone in the history of the Constitution," adding, "Has the Lee Jae-myung administration not been able to shake off the habit of blaming others even after taking office?"
