The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs announced the launch of the 'Agricultural Policy Transition Task Force (TF)' on the 27th to implement the agricultural policy commitments of the Lee Jae-myung administration.

The TF will operate with a focus on establishing practical and reform-oriented policies for agricultural innovation, centered around key tasks reflecting the new government's national philosophy. Vice Minister Kang Hyung-seok will serve as the Director General.

The TF consists of four areas: ▲ agricultural structure ▲ future agriculture ▲ rural areas ▲ farmers and citizens. The agricultural structure area will address the restructuring of production systems, strengthening food security, and building agricultural models that harmonize with the environment.

In the future agriculture area, discussions will include the transition to AI-based smart agriculture, fostering green bio and food tech industries, and strategies for expanding K-food exports. The rural area will include achieving 100% renewable energy (RE100), building welfare infrastructure in rural areas, and promoting decentralization. The farmers and citizens area will deal with income and management stability, income support across the life cycle, and improving animal welfare.

The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs plans to establish specific implementation plans for 13 key tasks within the next month through the TF.

Vice Minister Kang Hyung-seok said, 'There is a need to redesign agricultural policies for the great transition of agriculture and rural areas in line with the new government's national philosophy,' adding, 'We will crystallize core tasks that citizens and farmers can feel at their level and create results in the near future.'
