Kim Keon-hee, who had been hospitalized ahead of the special prosecutor's investigation, was discharged on the 27th. Former President Yoon Suk-yeol was alongside her as she left Seoul Asan Medical Center in a wheelchair.
Kim Keon-hee left the hospital around 4 p.m. that day, and a scene in which former President Yoon personally pushed her wheelchair was captured by reporters.
Choi Ji-woo, lawyer for Kim Keon-hee, said, "(Kim Keon-hee) plans to continue treatment at home for the time being" and noted, "She will sincerely respond to legitimate summons requests under the law."
Regarding some reports that the special prosecutor's office requested a closed summons, Choi said, "That is not true" and stated, "If a summons request comes from the special prosecutor, we plan to discuss the time and place to respond."
Kim Keon-hee was hospitalized on the 16th due to health deterioration. It is reported that her mental and physical condition worsened during the process of ongoing investigations related to the push for the impeachment of former President Yoon and the Dec. 3 martial law situation.
A member of the special prosecutor's team, when asked by reporters about Kim Keon-hee's summons as they arrived at the temporary office that day, said, "It will proceed according to law and principle." This is interpreted as suggesting that even if Kim Keon-hee's side requests a closed summons, they will not comply.
