Additionally, Lim Gwang-hyun, a Democratic Party of Korea lawmaker, was nominated as the candidate for Commissioner of the National Tax Service.

Candidate Kim has served as a constitutional researcher at the Constitutional Court and as a Supreme Court Justice, and has held positions including chief judge of the 1st Civil Division of the Seoul Central District Court and head of the Court Administration Office. Secretary Kang noted, "He is a person well-versed in the Constitution and laws, and as someone with a deep understanding of our society, he is the right person to add insight into constitutional interpretation."

Candidate Oh has served as chief research judge at the Supreme Court, Director General of the Seoul High Court, and Director General of the Patent Court. Secretary Kang said, "As one of the outstanding judges within the court, he will deepen the judgment of the Constitutional Court." He continued, "This appointment is the first step of the new government's efforts to restore the Constitutional Court, aiming to end the instability that reached a dangerous level and to further enhance national trust and independence in constitutional adjudication."

Candidate Lim, a former Vice Administrator of the National Tax Service, entered parliament as a proportional representative lawmaker of the Democratic Party in the 22nd general election. He was recruited by President Lee, who was the party leader, as a "tax expert." He has served as the head of the Seoul Regional Tax Service and head of the Investigation Division 1 of the Seoul Regional Tax Service. The Commissioner of the National Tax Service is a Vice Minister-level position that requires confirmation by the National Assembly. Secretary Kang stated, "Based on the broader perspective gained through activities in the Strategy and Finance Committee, he will contribute to fair tax administration and taxpayer protection."
