During the National Assembly personnel hearing, the nominee Kim was asked by People Power Party lawmaker Kwak Gyu-taek, “Will you challenge for the Seoul mayor position in the next local election?” to which he responded this way.

The nominee Kim noted, “I have made up my mind and have also told the president that.”

Regarding performing the prime minister role while maintaining his position as a lawmaker and staff, he stated, “Since the dual position system has been operated since the establishment of the National Assembly and the prime minister system, I will comply with that framework and will restrain myself as much as possible.”

However, when asked if he had thought about resigning from his position as a lawmaker to focus solely on the prime minister position, he said, “I have never thought about it.”

Regarding the salary he will receive from holding dual positions, the nominee Kim remarked, “I understand that usually, one receives the salary of the position that is more major or has a higher amount.”

When asked whether he would continue to fundraise as a lawmaker, he responded, “I am not doing any special activities for that purpose.”
