Following the U.S. strike on Iranian nuclear facilities, the Middle East situation has become unstable, prompting the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries to conduct an urgent inspection of the safety management of our vessels operating in the Middle East waters.

Vice Minister Kim Seong-beom presided over an emergency meeting with officials at the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries' integrated situation room in Sejong City on the 22nd. During the meeting, the current operating status of our vessels passing through waters near the Middle East, such as the Strait of Hormuz, and the shipping logistics measures were reviewed, and the emergency response system was examined to ensure swift action could be taken in the event of an emergency in the region.

Vice Minister Kim noted, "It is essential to maintain thorough management to ensure the safety of our crew and vessels in any crisis situation," and emphasized, "We must communicate closely to minimize the difficulties faced by the shipping logistics industry."
