Experts anticipate that the domestic manufacturing industry will improve in July. In particular, they predict positive prospects for semiconductors, steel, and the institutional sector of bio-health.
The Korea Institute for Industrial Economics & Trade (KIET) revealed on the 22nd that, based on a survey of 121 industry experts conducted from the 9th to the 13th, the July manufacturing outlook's Professional Survey Index (PSI) rose by 11 points to 104 compared to the previous month (93).
The PSI indicates that a score of 100 (no change compared to the previous month) suggests a positive outlook as the value approaches 200, while a value close to 0 indicates a negative outlook.
The July outlook PSI exceeded the baseline for the first time in four months. It has risen for two consecutive months compared to the previous month.
Detailed indicators show that domestic demand (98→104), production (98→106), exports (94→95), and investment amounts (96→99) have all increased compared to the previous month.
By industry, bio-health (119), semiconductors (116), displays (114), steel (113), shipbuilding (107), and chemicals (100) were all above the baseline of 100.
Items like electronics (82→93), automobiles (61→95), machinery (88→94), and textiles (75→92) also showed improvement compared to the previous month.
The manufacturing industry status index for June also rose by 3 points to 99 from the previous month (96).
KIET noted, 'Experts mentioned that market expansion, improvement in global conflict structures, increased liquidity, and recovery sentiment would help the bio-health sector.'
