Acting party leader Kim Byung-ki and floor leader of the Democratic Party said at a Supreme Council meeting held that morning at the National Assembly, "The court must re-arrest Yoon Suk-yeol, who is openly roaming the streets, and the insurrection accomplices like Kim Yong-hyun, whose detention is about to expire soon. This is true justice."

The special prosecutor investigating the insurrection case related to former President Yoon's state of emergency on Dec. 3 added charges against former Minister of National Defense Kim Yong-hyun for obstructing official duties the previous day and requested a detention warrant from the court. It is known that the special prosecutor, along with a police special unit, is also considering the arrest and request for a detention warrant for former President Yoon. Former President Yoon has yet to respond to the police's third request for attendance, which was essentially an ultimatum.

Floor leader Kim also criticized, "The political prosecution of the Yoon Suk-yeol administration is gradually being exposed," and said, "The prosecution, which cleared Kim Geon-hee after investigating the stock price manipulation case for four years, is said to have inadvertently found new recorded evidence just as the special prosecutor was starting. Cows passing by would laugh at this." The phone recordings of Kim Geon-hee, the wife of former President Yoon Suk-yeol, emerged additionally during the re-investigation into the Deutsche Motors stock price manipulation allegations following the establishment of the Lee Jae-myung government.

Supreme Council member Kim Byung-joo also stated, "The special prosecutor must take action. Just as they proceeded with additional charges against Kim Yong-hyun, they can do the same against Yoon Suk-yeol," and urged, "They should request for additional charges related to foreign exchange offenses and quickly request detention."
