The National Planning Committee, which will outline the 5-year vision of the Lee Jae-myung government, decided to form a total of 6 task forces (TFs) of a separate unit nature. Initially, it was planned to operate with 5 TFs, but during discussions, 2 TFs were merged, and 2 new TFs were established.

Spokesperson Cho Seung-rae said at a briefing held at the Sejong Convention Center on the 18th, "We said we would separately form the 5-year national operation plan TF and the fiscal plan TF, but we decided to merge the two," adding that "it was judged that merging would be efficient."

Spokesperson Cho continued, "There were discussions on constituting two TFs," explaining, "The first is a TF related to citizens' political and administrative participation, and we decided to create a regulatory reform TF to discuss the regulatory philosophy and concepts of the Lee Jae-myung government."

According to Spokesperson Cho, the TFs of the National Planning Committee consist of 6 areas: ▲ national vision ▲ government organization reform ▲ 5-year national operation plan (fiscal plan integration) ▲ taxes ▲ participatory democracy ▲ regulatory reform.

The head of the national vision TF will be Honorary Professor Kim Ho-ki from Yonsei University. The government organization reform TF will include Representative Park Hong-keun, Representative Cho Seung-rae, and Professor Yoon Tae-beom from the Korea National Open University.

The head of the 5-year national operation plan TF, which was merged with the fiscal plan TF, has not yet been confirmed. Spokesperson Cho reported that the tax TF will be centered around the Economic Subcommittee 2, and the current members are under discussion. It is said that specific discussions need to take place for the two newly established TFs.

A major economic policy schedule that reveals the direction of the Lee Jae-myung government's economic policies was also disclosed. Spokesperson Cho said, "The national fiscal strategy meeting will be held around July 20," adding that "the tax reform plan is expected to be finalized around the end of July."

Spokesperson Cho explained, "The president's fiscal strategy meeting is usually held no later than May, but this time it was postponed to July due to the president's impeachment and the presidential election. We are trying to speed up to align the timing as much as possible."
