President Lee Jae-myung departed for the Group of Seven (G7) summit in Canada on the afternoon of the 16th.

On this day, around 4:50 p.m., President Lee departed from Seoul Airport in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province, on the presidential plane to Calgary Airport in Alberta.

At the airport, they were seen off by Kim Byung-ki, the floor leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, Tamara Mohin, the Canadian ambassador to South Korea, Kang Hoon, the Chief of Staff, Woo Sang-ho, the Chief Political Officer, Ko Gi-dong, the acting Vice Minister of the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, and Kim Jin-ah, the Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs.

On this day, President Lee wore a black suit and a tie mixed with blue, red, and white. Kim Hye-kyung, who is accompanying him on this trip, wore a light green two-piece suit.

President Lee will attend the G7 summit from the 16th to the 18th for a three-day trip with one overnight stay. This meeting will include leaders from the seven major countries: the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, and Canada, as well as the President of the European Commission and representatives from Korea as observer countries.

On the first day, the 16th, President Lee will hold bilateral meetings with the leaders of other countries, and on the 17th, he will participate in the expanded G7 summit session that includes observer countries such as Korea. The session's theme will be 'energy security,' and he plans to speak twice.

Additionally, during this period, he is expected to hold meetings with U.S. President Donald Trump and Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba. Mrs. Kim plans to participate in the 'official schedule for first ladies' conducted by the host, Canada.
