Han Dong-hoon, former leader of the People Power Party, went live on the 15th and appealed for party membership, saying, "Joining the party is an essential action to change our politics and lead South Korea properly." He has continued to show his presence while contemplating a run for the next party leader.
On the same day, Han conducted a 50-minute live stream on his YouTube channel titled "It's Han Dong-hoon, only on Sunday afternoon." Most of the time was spent recommending songs and playing guitar.
He continued to appeal for supporters to actively join the "party membership" while answering questions from supporters. He emphasized, "(Joining the party) plays a role in reflecting your voices to lead conservative politics," adding, "I hope many of you will join as responsible members. That's how politics will change."
He added, "This way, the party’s stance can reflect public sentiment more, and then the party will become a political force that aligns more with public sentiment and can check Lee Jae-myung's government, becoming a party that can bring hope to South Korea."
Since his time as a candidate in the People Power Party's presidential primary, Han has consistently conducted live streams focusing on communication with supporters.
Han is reportedly listening to opinions from those around him about whether to challenge for the party leadership again. Recently, he has been seen seeking advice from former emergency committee chairman Kim Jong-in regarding his future moves, including running in the party convention.
Within the pro-Han group, there is a tense atmosphere with opinions that he should run to fully reform the party, while others caution that if he fails in next year's local elections, his position in the party could be undermined. A source from the pro-Han group said, "(The opinions on whether Han should run or not) are about 50-50," adding, "It hasn’t been decided whether he will run or not."
