Kim Jong Un, the Chairman of the Workers' Party of Korea, has been reported to have visited a munitions factory to inspect the production of shells.

The Korean Central News Agency reported on the 14th that "Chairperson Kim inspected an important defense industry enterprise on the previous day, and specifically understood the actual conditions of shell production in the first half of the year, as well as the expansion and modernization of capabilities."

Chairperson Kim's visit to the munitions factory included senior officials from the Labor Party such as Jo Yong Won, Kim Duk Hoon, Ri Hi Yong, O Su Yong, and Kim Jong Sik, as well as the Minister of Defense No Kwang Chol and the Minister of Foreign Affairs Choe Son Hui.

Chairperson Kim asserted that "to increase the production of powerful shells that meet the demands of modern warfare, production capacity must be further expanded, and the level of automation in production must be raised."

Chairperson Kim continues to emphasize the need to increase production by regularly visiting munitions factories amid ongoing military support from North Korea to Russia.

Chairperson Kim also asked in May, while visiting a munitions enterprise under the Second Economic Committee, to "produce more shells to contribute to the expansion of our military's power."
