Vice Minister Im Ki-geun of the Ministry of Economy and Finance instructed the timely execution of the supplementary budget to enhance public livelihood.
Vice Minister Im made this request during the 16th joint financial execution monitoring meeting of relevant ministries held at the government complex in Seoul on the 12th.
The meeting on this day was held to discuss the progress of the rapid execution in the first half of the year and the status of the supplementary budget execution.
As of this month, the rapid execution in the public institutional sector reached 325.1 trillion won, an increase of 11.3 trillion won compared to the previous year. The supplementary budget executed was 3.2 trillion won as of the end of last month. Consequently, it is expected to achieve the execution target of 8.4 trillion won by July.
Among the supplementary budget, the disaster and safety countermeasure expenses related to wildfire damage, with a recovery plan confirmed by the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasure Headquarters (CDSCHQ), amounting to 565.5 billion won, were completed last month.
Vice Minister Im said, “Each ministry should strive to execute even small budgets to the fullest until the end through self-review and so on.”
