The Reform Party announced on the 12th that it is forming a preparatory committee for the national convention and beginning the process of electing new leadership.

Chun Haram, the parliamentary representative and acting party leader, met with reporters at the National Assembly after the Supreme Council meeting and noted, “I anticipate that a preparatory committee meeting for the national convention will be held early next week to discuss the specific timing and rules of the convention.” Chun added, “If things move quickly, the convention could be held around early July.”

Acting Leader Chun said, “Since the election is over, and the standing election committee has been dissolved, it is necessary to normalize the party leadership structure swiftly.” Chun stated that “the specifics will be determined in a preparatory committee meeting for the national convention.”

The preparatory committee for the national convention plans for Kim Cheol-geun, the Secretary-General, to serve as Chairperson, with Lee Kyoung-sun, the Deputy Chief of Organization, and the heads of each city and provincial party participating as Commissioners.
